Strong winds cause mayhem in the States south

Following the strong weather warning issued yesterday, parts of the state are already seeing the effects of the hazardous weather conditions.

Police have advised that the driving conditions on Bruny Island are dangerous at the moment due to strong winds in the area.

Many trees have blocked roads, there is water coming over the road at the Neck and the Ferry between Kettering and Bruny Island has been suspended due to the weather.

Emergency Services have also had to close Harrington Street, Hobart between Davey and Macquarie Streets due to a roof being blown off a building.

The public have been asked to avoid the area.
