Police search for offenders after an alleged wounding in Devonport

Police are searching for up to four offenders and a stolen vehicle after a wounding incident at a residence in Devonport this afternoon.

Around 1:15pm, emergency services were called to the Gunn Street residence following a report that up to four people have allegedly forced entry into the residence, wounding the 23-year-old male occupant before stealing the vehicle. An edged weapon was located at the scene and at this stage the incident appears to be targeted.

Police are seeking the location of the stolen vehicle which is a white 2009 model Holden utility with the registration E77YJ. Anyone who sees this vehicle is asked not to approach it or the occupants and report to police immediately on 131 444.

The victim suffered multiple wounds to the arms and head and was transported to hospital in a stable condition.

People are asked to avoid the area Gunn Street area while investigations are underway.
