At approximately 8.40pm Tuesday evening four offenders gained entry to a Glenorchy property, where they allegedly assaulted a person at the property.
Police confirm that the parties are believed to be known to one another. During the assault the victim was allegedly hit with a firearm.
The offenders then left the scene in a white Honda Prelude.
Shortly after, the Honda crashed into a parked car on the Brooker Highway in Derwent Park. One of the suspects was arrested in the car, with the other suspects leaving the crash scene.
Another suspect was arrested in Moonah where they attempted to break into a shed. Upon searching the car, police were able to locate a firearm.
As a result of enquiries police attended an address in West Hobart where a further two suspects were arrested.
The victim was taken to hospital with cuts and bruising to his head.
Following an interview with the four suspects, police have charged them with numerous offences and they will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court either after hours this evenning or in the morning of 1 October 2020.
The four people involved, 3 men and 1 woman all in their early 20’s, and have been charged with Aggravated Assault as well as other associated charges after they assaulted a male victim in his home.
