Each year there is an increase in the number of house fires across Tasmania during the winter, and this year has been no exception.
The Government is reminding Tasmanians to keep themselves safe from the threat of fire this winter with an online campaign providing tips on how to protect themselves and their homes.
The campaign, Developed by The Tasmania Fire Service, is focusing on providing useful tips such as ensuring smoke alarms are installed in every room, correct use of wheat bags and appliances, and keeping anything flammable two metres away from the heater.
Tasmanians are encouraged to visit the Tasmania Fire Service Facebook page, and heed their advice.
Mark Shelton MP, The Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management said he would also like to thank all the Tasmanian career and volunteer firefighters who work tirelessly to keep Tasmanians safe all year round.
