Dromedary Woman Charged Over $90,000 of Methylamphetamine

A 52-year-old woman from Dromedary has been charged after police located three ounces of methylamphetamine in a vehicle she was travelling in near Claremont this afternoon.

Tasmania Police intercepted the vehicle at about 2.30pm today when it was travelling south on the Brooker Highway.

The woman, who was a passenger, was arrested when police located three ounces of methylamphetamine (ICE) hidden in the vehicle. This has an estimated street value of approximately $90,000.

The 61-year-old man driving the vehicle was also arrested but was released from custody without charge.

The woman was charged with selling a controlled drug, possession of a controlled drug, and other drug offences.

She was bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
